Africa
Historically, Willbros participated in the construction of much of the existing energy transportation infrastructure in the North and West Africa Regions.
Willbros has a 45 year history in Africa, specializing in engineering and design of gathering and lengthy inter-country pipelines and associated facilities for onshore and coastal locations. Willbros has also delivered engineering, construction management, and maintenance services to downstream transportation, storage, and refining facilities. The Company discontinued its presence in West Africa in 2006 as a result of increased risks to personnel.
Willbros’ history and experience in Africa enhance our ability to deliver unique and highly technical solutions for our clients in the region, in most cases by employing the local workforce. We will continue to examine business opportunities there on a case-by-case basis.
