The acquisitions of Integrated Service Company (InServ) in 2007 and Wink Engineering, LLC in 2009 positioned Willbros as a leader in engineering, construction services, plant turnaround services, heater fabrication, consulting, in-plant safety services and facilities life extension capabilities for the downstream oil and gas industry. Both of the acquired companies have management teams averaging more than 25 years experience in providing solutions for clients in the refining and petrochemical industries.

With the 2010 acquisition of the Infrastrux Group, Willbros became a substantial provider of services in the electric and natural gas utility industries. Infrastrux, a diverse company with more than 100 sites in the United States, is a leading service provider of comprehensive construction, maintenance and life-extension solutions for electric transmission and distribution. The acquisition, now Willbros’ Utility T&D segment, also complemented Willbros’ service offering for natural gas gathering and transmission pipelines , and added supplementary services for distribution clients. Horizontal directional drilling capabilities also provide subsurface construction services using HDD to traverse environmentally-sensitive sites.

Willbros operates internationally. In Canada, it provides fully-integrated construction, fabrication and maintenance services primarily to customers in the oil sands region. Among its differentiators is its qualified ’on-call’ workforce and modular fabrication solutions for the oil sands extraction industry, centered in Alberta province.

For more than fifty years, Willbros has been a valued contractor for the U.S. government, most recently providing construction, ownership and management of fuels storage facilities at eight military bases.

Since the late 1940s, Willbros has served the Middle East, working in most countries within the region. Today, it operates a subsidiary, The Oman Construction Company (TOCO), in the Sultanate of Oman, providing contract and specialty services for that country’s oil and gas field gathering, pipeline and processing operations, including a maintenance services contract for the LNG export facility.
