Willbros is a specialty energy infrastructure contractor serving the oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical and power industries. Our offerings include engineering, procurement and construction (either individually or as an integrated “EPC” service offering), turnarounds, maintenance, facilities development and operations services.
We believe our long experience and expertise in the planning and execution of projects differentiates us from our competitors and provides us with competitive advantages in the markets we serve. Our engineering and project management capabilities position us for early involvement in projects and support our EPC service offering. Our maintenance capabilities provide us the opportunity to participate in the full life cycle of projects, many of which have design lives of more than 25 years. The Company dates back more than a century, to 1908, when it was founded as the William Brothers Company.
Over the years, the Company developed expertise and competency in solving some of the most challenging engineering problems around the world. Willbros is globally recognized for its development of pipeline systems and associated facilities installed in any climate or terrain. With its upstream oil and gas capability, Willbros has constructed more than 200,000 km (114,000 miles) of pipeline and has been employed by more than 400 clients in over 60 countries.
Willbros has diversified into the downstream oil and gas industry, principally refining and petrochemicals. Its acquisitions of Integrated Service Company (InServ) and Wink Engineering expanded the Willbros reputation and established its presence in the downstream industry segment, where Willbros now provides engineering, construction, plant turnarounds, safety services and maintenance services.
Similarly, the acquisition of InfrastruX established Willbros as an experienced and capable contractor in the electric transmission and distribution market. The acquisition also bolstered the Willbros capabilities in natural gas gathering and transmission while adding a significant presence in the gas distribution market.
Willbros Group, Inc. is registered in Delaware and headquartered in Houston, Texas. The Company’s common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and traded under the symbol WG.
